Christ Episcopal School (CES), Preschool 2s-Grade 8, was founded in 1966 in historic downtown Rockville. Now celebrating over 50 years of academic excellence, the school has been known throughout its history for providing a very strong private school education at an affordable price. In addition to rigorous academics, the school emphasizes moral and ethical behavior through its Cardinal Character Program and focuses upon team-based research, collaboration, cooperation and presentation. CES Virtual School has been recognized during the COVID pandemic for maintaining the school's strong and vibrant academic program while continuing to nurture the community connections CES has always valued so highly. Known for its small class sizes, CES teachers know their students well and provide instruction to meet the needs of each child. Small class sizes provide increased opportunities for field trips, activities and real-world experiences that enrich the program. With its intent to build a school community that represents the world in which the students live, CES seeks students of all faiths, ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic backgrounds. CES graduates are accepted to the area's top independent schools and MCPS honors and magnet programs.
