NO SEARCH OF HUMAN EMOTIONS HAS EVER PROBED SO DEEPLY, SO TRUTHFULLY AS… ANATOMY OF A MURDER.
To celebrate our new host and best friend Sutherland's birthday, we dive headfirst into some legal proceedings with his pick of Otto Preminger's ANATOMY OF A MURDER! We talk how it handles the moral ambiguity of the American court system, Jimmy Stewart's voice, and if this movie was actually made for Sutherland.

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)
THEY LEFT FOR WAR AS BOYS NEVER TO RETURN AS MEN.
This week, we're going back to our first ever theme with Sutherland picking one of the first Best Picture winners ever, All Quiet on the Western Front from 1930. We spend a ton of time comparing and contrasting with the 2022 German adaptation that's become rather polarizing between the four of us, break down the Classic Hollywood of it all, and Josh talks about a book for maybe the first time ever? We also talk about Challengers, Family Guy Star Wars, and Josh starts binging Dimension 20 and really wants to play Dungeons and Dragons.

My Dinner with Andre (1981)
This week, we've got what may be the biggest show in Explorers history as we welcome on previous guest Sutherland as the official fourth Film Explorer! Applaud alongside us as we also dive into a long discussion of the existential conversations of MY DINNER WITH ANDRE, our first Louis Malle and one of the biggies of the time period. We go long on our personal journeys with mundanity, meditation, and spirituality, our perspectives on living a life of chaos, and the semantics of filming Wallace Shawn eating a bowl of potato soup. Also discussed are a theater trip to see Abigail, Jackson reconciling with Avatar, and Josh falling head over heels for Willem Dafoe yet again.
