God designated Israel to be a “kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Ex. 19:13), but by the end of this book, they had become thoroughly canaanized. Judges is a story of God’s people doing life their own way regardless of what God has said. But it’s also a story of God’s enduring mercy and steadfast love. Judges ultimately points us to Jesus, a King and Champion who will reign over His people in perfect righteousness for all of eternity. -
