Now Ya Know Vinnie Langdon III

Alice Austen (Munn) was a prolific American Photographer from Staten Island, New York who lived in the Clear Comfort House in the Rosebank neighborhood of Staten Island. The home today is a museum and the area outdoors is used for an events center. Alice Austen photographed thousands of photographs during her time period between 1866-1952. In this mini Podcast, Vinnie Langdon III tells the history of Alice Austen in this episode. 

From 1915 until 1932, there was a professional Football team called the Stapleton Stapes in Staten Island, New York. They played a few years with the National Football League until the New York Giants were formed by a man named Tim Mara and most of their players were traded to the Giants organization. On this podcast, Vinnie Langdon III tells you the research he found while learning about this almost-forgotten team. 

It all began in 1654 in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Staten Island, New York where Dutch migrants built the 'Dutch Reform Church.' This church has fascinating history and is a New York Historical Landmark. From its deep roots in it's church's three cemetery lots that has over 700 people in it, to its nearby connection with Vice President Aaron Burr to partially being designed and built by magician Harry Houdini's B.F.F.
