Today we are discussing the gravitational pull of the barber shop and how it is instantly of sacred place where men feel comfortable expressing themselves. Sometimes the barbershop gets a bad reputation because of the locker room talk, the derogatory comments that are made and the fact that it may be a breeding ground for what people call toxic masculinity. We must highlight the positive aspects of what happens in these barber shops and comradery, conversations, and lessons that are learned in spaces where generations of men talk to each other. We discuss our favorite barbershop conversations.

Today we are discussing the association between men choosing to take care of themselves and the guilt that can be associated with that. When men take charge of their own mental health we get judged. Is selfcare and happiness synonymous? Self-care is about quality of life. Is a lack of happiness built into the definition of a
man? The concessions that men make are usually silent. We make decisions that can be detrimental to our health and no one knows. Mikell points out how religion speaks to how men have been indoctrinated to servitude and accepting suffering.

Today we take on the the topic of Clay and AD from Love Is Blind. We discuss how much hate that Clay has been getting since the season of Love is Blind ended. We discuss how black men should learn to accept love even if they feel unworthy. We also speak on how to move on from generational trauma.

Today we are tackling the idea of Peter Pan Syndrome within the black community. We discuss is this something that truly exist and what the impacts may be of our people not wanting to grow up. Mikell contends that black society actually has more of the "Wendy Syndrome" where we end up growing too fast and that this Peter Pan syndrome is not born from black society. Sam contends that there are specific parts of black culture that glorifies staying in a younger mindset. Hip hop artists would be married for years, but all of their content would be about living a young carefree life. Warren P is tired of this generation not taking responsibility for not wanting to take control of their own lives.

Today we are discussing the lack of historical knowledge of how men and women worked together during the civil rights movement to advance black society. We haven't been taught the impact of how black women have impacted our movement. If we were taught to hold black women in higher regard would we protect them better? Have we been conditioned to see the opposite sex as the enemy? Is the bar of perfection negatively impacting the way we connect with one another, have empathy for one another? Have we lost the concept of the greater good when it comes to black relationships?

Today we are tackling topic brought to light by Ebony K. Williams and the backlash of her stating that she would only date a bus driver if they owned the bus. We discuss how the way women view status impacts the value that men place on themselves. We discuss how those thoughts impact our decision making process.
