Being The "Little Guys" on YouTube BamToo Podcast

This is a special edition of the lockdown BamToo Podcast in which we have our first guest on!

This week we spoke to one of our good friends who has also not long started their own YouTube channel. Benj runs a gaming based YouTube channel in which he does lets plays, reviews and media  journalism. 

Although we differ largely in the type of content we plan to produce, we took the opportunity to discuss the mutual obstacles and challenges we have faced with starting a new YouTube channel. An in depth chat of the mental, physical and environmental factors we have both faced ensues and a greater understanding and respect is gained throughout as we establish we are not alone in most of our struggles. 

After a good belly ache about being a small creator on the platform we both discuss our reasons for starting and why we chose to start. We take a quick trip down memory lane as to find our first recollections of watching YouTube and the channels that may have inspired us.

Benj passionately explains how media in general effects his life and that his love for certain games and films goes further than for entertainment purposes. We ask what he has in store for the future of the channel and what his next milestones are as a small up and coming YouTube creator. 

Hopefully this podcast gives those people on the outside a greater concept of what its like and what it takes when starting up for some people. On the other hand, we also hope this podcast provides useful information for those who have started or who are thinking of starting their own YouTube channel. We found out we are not alone with the struggles and mental obstacles we face and therefore believe this should serve as reassurance to anyone else feeling stuck, lost or unmotivated.
