Sometimes, life can feel like we “have it made in the shade” in one moment, and then the next is turned completely upside down. We often don’t get to choose our circumstances, but we can choose to find rest in the shade of the Most High and draw strength from His peace that passes all understanding.

Our “Kingdom Living” series continues as we hit week three, where Pastor Mike shares an encouraging message on Living a Spirit-Filled Life. Living the Christian life is not about following a series of laborious religious rituals to make us a better person. Living the Christian life is about joyfully pursuing Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. A life that bears fruit and is an open vessel to receive spiritual gifts by the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. We were encouraged to be led by the spirit, developed by the spirit, equipped by the spirit, and empowered by the spirit.

Happiness is external; joy is internal. Many times, our happiness is situational, but joy is spiritual. We can choose joy no matter the trials and circumstances we may face. Jesus empowers us to have an un-circumstantial joy! We can always have joy if we look at joy through the lens of God’s promises.

Pastor Jason shares a powerful message about how to prepare the altar of our hearts. Just like in the Old Testament, the Levitical priest had to set up the proper altar for the burnt offering. For the fire to burn, it needs the right wood (fuel) and must be cared for and cleaned out daily.
