Mike Chantry was involved in most major snowboarding contests beginning with the 1983 Worlds (featuring the first snowboarding halfpipe ever) all the way through the US Open and Olympics games. Mike scored 17th at that first contest and is a solid snowboarder in his own right. Here we have the story of how he started the world's first snowboard mag and why he eventually changed the name to ISM. This is a piece of snowboarding history I'm seriously proud of.
