As a result, the coltan mining industry, and the prized metal tantalum extracted from it, is a "conflict mineral", closely linked to a range of human rights abuses in a similar way that Africa's so-called blood diamonds are also sold to fund conflict.

I'm Absolutely So Sick Of Ads Invading EVERY Part of My Life
I went to the gas station. There's an ad on the pump. Went to watch a movie on Amazon Prime Video. Got some ads DURING the movie. YouTube's ads are getting worse. I can't SAY anything in my house without getting ads about it. We just ate mac n' cheese for dinner two nights ago, and guess what ad I got on YouTube today? Velveeta cheese and shells. It's getting downright creepy.

Everywhere I go or look, there's an ad in my face trying to sell me something. It's MADDENING. I can't watch a video, a movie, nothing, even on services I already pay for! This endless swath of ads and promotions can't be good for our mental health. It's certainly driving me crazy.

EDIT: I don't have Alexa or whatever for this every reason and never have. That's why it's creeping me out lol

Each day on average, 30 Black Americans are killed by guns and more than 110 experience non-fatal injuries. At least every other day, a Black person is shot and killed by police. These trends worsen in large cities, where Black Americans make up 68% of homicide victims. Gun violence further clusters in specific social networks and neighborhood sub-sections. For decades, residents have come together to ensure public safety within their communities through street outreach, hospital-based violence intervention programs, and more. But lawmakers need to do their part. They must prioritize community- and evidence-based solutions to gun violence, assess their racial impacts, and develop systems to end and ensure accountability for police shootings.
