    Lockdown

    Lockdown

Since the onset of Covid, we have all experienced it at some point, no matter where we've been on earth - Lockdown. It has been different for us all, but it has still been a shared experience. So, when Sayantan and DK sat down to talk about nothing, their conversations invariably meandered into conversations about the pandemic and the lockdown. The hosts experienced the lockdowns in different ways and in different cities across US and India, so it was only fitting for them to dedicate the season finale of their podcast to this phenomenon.
Tune in, give it a listen if you have some time, maybe share your experience of the lockdown too. Hopefully, you will find something interesting to take away from this episode. And do check out some Ugly Tales until we come back with another season of It's About Nothing.

Did You Hear What The Government Wants From Social Media Companies?

Did You Hear What The Government Wants From Social Media Companies?

Sayantan and DK are back with another episode of It's About Nothing.

Only this time, it is about something. Something that everyone seems to be talking about. It's almost fitting for an Ugly Tales story.

The Government of India recently imposed some regulations on the big social media companies. They gave the companies three months to comply and now, those three months are up.

    Here's the gist:

Government wants more control over what gets posted on social media.
Companies have a problem with implementing some of the protocols.
Many people think that the Government is infringing on the right to free speech of its citizens.

What do we think? Tune in and find out.

P.S. This is just two average Joes trying to make sense of something way above their pay grade. So, take everything with a pinch of salt.

What! UFOs aren’t real, are they?

What! UFOs aren’t real, are they?

The US Department of Defence, over the last year, has declassified a series of videos that confirm the sightings of UFOs. In this episode, Sayantan and DK try to breakdown from those videos:

Are those videos reliable enough to confirm that these are UFOs from outer space?
Why would the the US Government suddenly feel comfortable with making these videos public?
If these are indeed confirmed alien craft sightings, what would that mean for all the claims people made about UFOs and being abducted by aliens in the past?
And what might a future look like in which we have to share this planet with aliens?

We are not scientists, just two guys with a lot of curiosity and a bit of time. Come hang out with us while we talk about UFOs and yet we talk about nothing. And if you want something else to check out after the episode, maybe check out Ugly Tales for some of DK's writing.

    What should we talk about?

    What should we talk about?

Two childhood friends, stuck at home in a pandemic, one needing a break before starting a new job, another needing a break from writing his Ugly Tales, both thinking of ways to kill some time, decide to start a podcast of their own. It was only after they started recording that they realized they need to know what they'll talk about on the podcast. They could talk about anything from social issues, to politics, to the future, but picking just one thing to talk about? That's going to be a challenge.

So, two guys with enough time to talk dedicate the first episode of their podcast to discuss what they can talk about. Instead, they just end up chilling together, and along the way, they talk about quite a few different things.

Without any bells or whistles, two guys talk about:

    Embarrassing moments of their lives
    Dreams about the future
Why their is so much hate in the world today
    The nature of Bengali people
What if the Internet never existed
The top 5 sitcoms of all time
And what should be the theme of the podcast

You'll find plenty for which to ridicule the hosts, their strange Indian accents, their umms and their hmms, their dog who just wouldn't shut up, and their utter clumsiness in how they produced a podcast. Ridicule away. Laugh at them, laugh with them, just laugh. It's the one thing we all need to do today.

Want to be a fly on the wall during these conversations, ranging from silly to pseudo-intellectual? Tune in.
