Midtown Coffee Radio Hour presents its February 2022 show, "Hygges and Kisses!" This episode was recorded in front of a live audience at The Back Alley on Augustana University's campus in midtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In honor of Valentine's Day, this show features love songs of all kinds, skits about the Sioux Falls Winter Olympics, the return of "Maren's Memes" and "Murder in Midtown," and yet another dramatic reading from Nick... although this one is a little more on the serious side. Enjoy this radio hour surrounded by loved ones while stuffing your face with chocolates, drinking Cupid's Punch, or driving through a blizzard with only a fraction of your windshield scraped free of ice... again. Midtown's July 2021 show, "Caffe Americano," was recorded on the beautiful prairie out at Strawbale Winery in Renner, South Dakota, in front of a crowd of 200 adoring fans, 20 chickens, 8 cats, and 5 guinea fowl (which you'll be able to hear on the recording)! This show features songs with some summer American vibes as well as Christmas in July! We've got a skit about the Sioux Falls Olympics, "Matt Rides His Bike" episode 3, yet another dramatic reading from Nick, and a Christmas in July skit about making lefse! We're also so happy to have the star of "Ole Opens Cards," Andrew Olson, back with us opening a pack of baseball cards! Midtown's June 2021 show, "Farm to Coffee Table," is the first one recorded in front of a LIVE PUBLIC AUDIENCE! This live recording was done at the beautiful Strawbale Winery in Renner, South Dakota in front of about 130 people, 20 chickens, 8 cats, and 5 guinea fowl (which you'll be able to hear on the recording)! This show features songs with summer vibes as well as Father's Day. We've got a skit about guinea cocks (the daddy guinea fowl), "Matt Rides His Bike" episode 2, and a commercial for a collaborative Strawbale/Midtown experimental drink! We're also honored to have the guests from our January show back with us, The Stai Family Band and comedian Nathan Hults! Midtown's May show, "Home Brew," is the first one recorded in front of a LIVE AUDIENCE! Yes, you heard that right! This live recording was done in Nick & Tina's backyard, and true to its theme of being home and feeling hygge, this show features our next door neighbor, Wes, and the gnomes that live in our front yard tree, Anastasia and Sir Kensington! This is also the first show with fiddle player extraordinaire, Krystal Pederson, as a member of The House Blend! We also are lucky to have guest drummer and longtime friend, Jeff Johnson, on the show! Oh, and we're bringing back the famous Aunt Debby's Brownies, we're honoring our mothers, we're singing songs about gardening, we've got an ORIGINAL song composed by Nick and Tina's daughter, AND we're joining Matt as he rides his bike! Our April show is a special one to us. True to its title, "The Dregs" features some things coming to an end. For one, this is Zach Dresch's last show as a member of our House Blend; he is our beloved drummer and all-around funny guy, and we can't wait to have him back as a guest in the future. Our skits and music highlight the end of a long winter (and fake spring) and the beginning of spring. The featured guest musicians are Brady and Katie Wrede of "Common Ground," and we're lucky enough to have snagged Andrew "Ole" Olson of "Olson Opens Cards" to kick off the beginning of baseball season!
