In this sermon we recount some of the miracles of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels. We remind ourselves that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. The kinds of miracles we need may be different from the people in Bible times. But Jesus has not changed. He is the same miracle working Jesus. He works miracles through His people as we believe. Let’s expect the Lord to work miracles in our life situations today.

In the Gospels we see the Lord Jesus casting out evil spirits, delivering people and healing people from sicknesses caused due to demonic activity. We know from Scripture that evil spirits (demons) cause certain physical problems, disturb the mind and emotions, hold people in bondage, captive to addictions and unclean habits, oppress, torment and trouble people. Jesus still delivers people from all demonic activity! He is still the Great Deliverer. He has delegated us His people with His authority to cast out demonic powers and set people free.

In the Gospels we see the Lord Jesus heal all kinds of physical problems by His power. But our faith in God, can welcome the healing power of our Lord into our lives over all physical conditions. The Scriptures teach that when we gather together in His name, Jesus is present, and His power is available. Hence, we can and should expect the same things to happen in His name, as would happen, if He were present here in physical person. We recount some of the healing miracles Jesus did and then pray for physical healings to take place today, in Jesus' name.

In our modern world, where we do have resources and means to address many of our problems, it is important to remind ourselves about our God who is supernatural. There are many things we cannot do, and we need God to intervene. We reflect on the three simple statements and remind ourselves of God's works in the Bible: The God of the Bible is the God of today. Our God is a supernatural God. Faith in God opens the door for God to do supernatural things in our lives. We share Bible examples that show that: The God of the Bible is a supernatural Provider. The God of the Bible is a supernatural Healer. The God of the Bible is a supernatural Problem Solver. he God of the Bible is a supernatural Protector. The God of the Bible is a supernatural Vindicator.

We are living in times where sexual orientation, gender identity and gendered language is increasingly becoming common in public life, and we must learn how to engage. In addressing gendered ideology, we present a framework to guide our thinking. This will help guide our thinking and response in situations we may encounter in relating to transgender people or related matters:
1. God does not override human will.
2. God expresses what is right and wrong and invites us to choose right.
3. God deals with everyone with love and fairness.
4. God is willing to reason together.
5. God does not compromise himself. He is truth, holy, just, loving.
Caring for our environment and considering matters such as climate change, etc. are other topics that are important. While we recognize that creation is currently subject to corruption and God is eventually going to create new heavens and a new earth, we consider if we should still care about the planet we live on.

The church is called to be the pillar and foundation of truth. With the advancements in science and technology, there are many new areas to which we as believers must respond, while considering the spiritual and ethical dilemmas these present to us. Today we consider a few such areas: Artificial intelligence (AI), neural implants, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and frozen embryos. Based on Scripture we contrast divine wisdom and earthly wisdom, and present a simple framework to engage and meaningfully discuss these matters, and stay aligned to God’s design and original intent.
