Is Hip Hop Dead or Alive and well ....Ever since I can remember there has been a generational war within hip hop . Even when we didn't even know it... Kool Moe Dee challenging Busy Bee.....Then a few years later LL Cool J calling Kool Moe Dee old skool in his diss record Jack The Ripper .... We weren't thinking about this diss battle being a generational "Thing" it was old skool vs new skool to us ..So now Back to the Future where the whole construct has changed to where there are aspects that are unrecognizable to some of us hip hoppers from the 90s and early 2000s. True to form there are a number of todays artist that dismiss the artist  that came before them as well as the elders dissing the leaders of this new skool .
