Turning Towards Trouble

Today, we will launch into this season and pick up the narrative of Jesus as He is “Turning Towards Trouble”. The gospels of the New Testament are the account of the life and ministry of this man named Jesus. Each gospel shares a unique perspective, inspired by the Holy Spirit, but written through the lens of a follower of Jesus. Grave to Garden

Last week, we left Jesus in the hands of the Roman Guard, sentenced to death by an unruly crowd who released a convicted murderer instead as Pilate offered the option but was overruled by the Jewish religious leadership. Wow! Easter Sunday always gets my GOSPEL BUMPS raised. We had a wonderful time here at the Fellowship remembering some of the last words of our Lord. Not just the last words on the cross, which were so significant for our salvation, but also His final words as our resurrected Lord before he ascended back to Heaven. Welcome back for the second installment of our Easter Special Podcast, “Empty?”. Last week we saw how Jesus turned to trouble. This week as Jesus nears Jerusalem, the epicenter of conflict between the Roman Empire and the Israelites. I am reminded of two things: how the political landscape of the day can really cause disruptions in life and secondly, no matter what year we fall on the historical timeline, there are certain things that just don’t change. Life may look differently now in the 21st century than it did in the 1st, however, when drilled down, the faults of mankind still show itself as repetitive problems.
