1) מסופר בתורה אודות המסירת נפש שהי' לרחל שיהי' לה בן. וכמדובר כמ"פ שאין מקום לשקו"ט אם קיימו כבר מצות פרי' ורבי' אז מהו ההכרח לעוד ילד וכו' – מצוה הראשונה בתורה היא "פרו ורבו" עד ש"ומלאו את הארץ וכבשוה"! ופסק-דין בהלכה הוא שכל ילד הוא 'עולם מלא"! ואפי' אם יש טעם אמיתי למה לדחות א"ז – יש לסמוך בזה על הקב"ה שהוא "עצם הטוב", ומשגיח בהשגחה פרטית על כל אחד ואחת שכ"א מהם הוא "עולם מלא" (במכ"ש וק"ו מהשגח"פ אפי' על עלה שנפלה מאילן וכו'), ואין להתערב בזה ח"ו (אא"כ ישנו פס"ד ברור בתורה). 2) על רחל נאמר שבשעת הגאולה היא תתבשר עלי' – "מנעי קולך מבכי .. ושבו בנים לגבולם", כשכר ע"ז שבדרכם לגלות עברו בנ"י את קברה והיא נתנה להם את הכח לעבור את הגלות ולהישאר בריאים ושלימים ברוחניות, והיא זו שממשיכה ומבקשת מהקב"ה על הגאולה שלימה במהרה בימינו ממש.

Synopsis

(1) The Torah describes the mesiras-nefesh Rochel had in order to have a son; as discussed many times, even if one has already fulfilled the mitzvah of peru u’revu, there is no room for debate as to whether they should have more children: the first mitzvah in the Torah is to “Be fruitful and multiply,” and to the point of “filling the earth and subduing it.” And it is a ruling in halacha that every child is a complete world. Even where there is a legitimate reason to delay it, one must rely on Hashem, Who is the essence of good and Who oversees every person, each of whom is a “complete world,” with Hashgacha Pratis (as is obvious from the fact that Hashem oversees even the way a leaf rolls over in the street etc.), and one must not interfere chas v’shalom (unless there is a clear halachic ruling permitting it). (2) It says that Rochel will be informed of the Redemption (“Restrain your voice from weeping … and your children will return to their borders”) as a reward for giving the Jewish people the strength, on their way into exile, to endure and to remain spiritually healthy and whole; she is the one who continues to plead with Hashem for the complete Redemption to come speedily in our days, literally.
