Keeping positive, embracing change and doing right. This is the message the 2019 Saskatchewan Country Music Association's Roots Artist of The Year nominee, The North Sound (Forrest Eaglespeaker) conveys though his music. This level of service doesn't stop at the music though, that's just one vein... and we tear into what Forrest has been doing to spread the good word and how others can help leave this place a better place than how we found it. We talk mental health, indigenous music and arts and the recent uprising and awareness in popular culture. We get into the Canadian Roots Exchange, a non-profit that Forrest works for when he's not being a rock star, aimed at bridging the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous peoples of Canada in hopes of educating the public to grow a healthy nation free of discrimination and systemic racism.
Pretty effin' powerful stuff!
We also talk shop on the recent NBA Champs, hear Forrest build his dream band and hear his single "Between The Ditches" which is currently sitting at #21 on the Indigenous Music Countdown.
Learn how to be vulnerable. Embrace the uncomfortable. Let's do this thing.
