011 What's the Point of Planning‪?‬ Actually® Making a Difference with Sara Price

    • Careers

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve heard purpose-led entrepreneurs, start-up impact business owners and coaches say that they don’t see the point of planning. And that tendency to be anti-planning has only gotten worse since the pandemic - after all, all the plans we made at the beginning of 2020 went a little awry, right?
But the truth is that planning is one of THE keys to success in business; it will also save you time, give you and your business a sense of structure and purpose, and significantly reduce your feelings of overwhelm and panic.

In this episode, I'll debunk some of the most common excuses I hear on why people prefer not to plan; I'll explain why planning is the best way to approach any business, and I'll share four tips to start planning your business correctly.

What You'll Learn:

How having a plan can save you time and energy, and bolster your business' successHow a plan can assist you during uncertain timesWhat to do if you find planning constrainingThe right context for your planning The importance of setting clear expectations and goals as part of your plan

I think of business planning the same way I think of planning a road trip: you need to know your final destination and have a roadmap to get there with a timeframe and resources prepared but you can detour and adjust along the way!

Having a plan is the safest way to ensure that you can actually make a difference with your business.
