HAPPY NEW YEAR! As we welcome 2020 today, I cannot think of a more perfect episode to air than THIS ONE with Tami. In with the new, out with the old. Take a deep breathe in....exhale out....and keep reading. 2020 is YOUR year, girl! A year of transformation, change, and FREEDOM.
Tami is the author of THE STUCK STOPS HERE: How I Broke The Cycle of Generational Dysfunction One AHA! Moment At A Time.Tami is an adult child of narcissistic parents on a healing journey. For the last 100 + years, Tami’s family lived lives filled with rage, blame, greed, divorce, toxic selfishness, shame and lies while pretending everything was fine. The emotionally toxic ties between her and her parents and their parents caused her to live a false life. It wasn’t until recently that she could not answer the question, “Who am I?”. She navigated recklessly through a long and messy terrain in an effort to disentangle herself from the web of fear, obligation and guilt. It was a painful, sometimes unbearable, process of separation that nearly ended in tragedy on a dark winter night in 2014. Tami wanted to break the cycle, she knew that it had to end here, with her. Her book tells her story which she hopes is relatable and healing.

What you'll learn today:

Qualities and warning signs of a narcissist
Ways to manage and cope (including: how to set boundaries if you've not yet gone no contact)
How to free yourself and break the chains once and for all
Perfectionism, and how it's sometimes an obsession to gain validation from outside sources

Quotes:

"Narcissism is a spiritual cancer"
"Anything that made me unique or special was put out like a fire"
"Read, write, yoga, meditate ... [these are used to create a] continuous positive cycle"
"Toxic coping strategies as a result of a toxic childhood are an addition"
"Constant learning and un-learning [is a way to break free]"
"If [someone] has a personality disorder... [they are] spiritually sick"
