Episode Summary
It has been said that the only thing consistent in this life is change. With change everywhere around us, we need something that doesn’t move – doesn’t change – something or Someone on whom we can depend. And that someone is God. The doctrine of Immutability simply means that God is unchangeable.
Topics We Discussed in this Episode
●     [4:34]            The doctrine of Immutability simply means that God is unchangeable. God is unchanging in who He is, His being, His purposes, His promises, His character – everything about God is unchanging.
●     [7:39]            The contrast between being and becoming marks the difference between the Creator and the created.
●     [8:59]            God is unchanging in both His purposes and His promises.
●     [11:48]          Does God change his mind?
●     [16:41]          To answer the question, “Why is this important in my day-to-day life?”, let’s ask the question, “What would it be like if God could change?”.
Resources We Mentioned in the Show
·       Jeff referred to a quote in the novel, "Baghdad: The Final Gathering", written by Ahmad Ardalan in the show today: “Sometimes in life, a sudden situation, a moment in time, alters your whole life, [and] forever changes the road ahead.”
·       Jeff mentioned the Dutch theologian Herman Bavinck’s work, The Doctrine of God.
Bible Verses We Mentioned in the Show
●     Psalm 102:25-27, HCSB
●     Malachi 3:6, NIV
●     James 1:17, HSCB
●     Isaiah 46:9-11, NASB
●     Numbers 23:19, NIV
●     1 Samuel 15:29, NIV
