In today's episode I'm sitting down with my best friend Ryan Russell who also happens to be a trailblazer as the first open LGBTQ+ professional in the NFL. We've been rocking together since the 6th grade, he introduced me to Joe, was the best man at our wedding, and spoke at J's funeral. He's an NFL and LGBTQ+ community icon, but I am honored that he also plays the role of shoulder I can cry on whenever I need. In this episode we'll talk about Ryan coming out as the first openly LGBTQ+ professional in the NFL, not compartmentalizing your life or putting yourself in a box so you can live your full truth, what nearly one year of sobriety looks like for Ryan and the new lifestyle he's adopted and what life is like after losing his best friend to cancer and our shared journey through grief.
