03: London to New York, the future of corporate social responsibility and what can internal comms learn from digital social media campaigns - chat with Sam Waterton No More Long Talk

    • Business

Welcome back to your weekly dose of No More Long Talk, where today I chat with Global Digital Specialist for UNICEF, Sam Waterton.

In today’s episode I chat with Sam about what internal comms can learn from digital social media campaigns and vice versa; what the future looks like for companies giving back via corporate social responsibility; advice in moving abroad for your dream comms job and how to make it happen and what he’s doing to help change the world of work.

Sam manages UNICEF's global social media channels where his aim is to use creative campaigns and UNICEF's global network of 80 million social media supporters to improve the lives of children. He has a decade of non-profit, government and public sector experience in press relations, web and social media. This includes five years of international development experience.

He is also UNICEF's social media lead for emergencies and risk communication, including COVID-19 advocacy, fundraising and public health messaging. He’s currently working towards a masters in Communications for Development.

Take a listen as Sam shares his story of how he used his comms and international development experience to move to New York to help improve the lives of millions of disadvantaged children and adolescents worldwide.
