Stepping Into Corporate Leadership with Karen Perham Lippman Emerge. Evolve. Lead.

    • Self-Improvement

This is our 3rd episode, and my guest today is Karen Perham-Lippman who is a dynamic executive and mission-driven business strategist with demonstrated results in diversity, equity and inclusion, corporate social responsibility, community outreach and consumer services in public, government, nonprofit and academic organizations. Karen now lives in Colorado with her twin boys and has one son in college.

We met in the rooms over 10 years when she lived in Connecticut and I have seen her grow into an incredible leader. First as a single parent of her children, then as a sponsor and volunteer in both the sober and non-profit community; and then, by expanding on those skills she developed in recovery, she advanced step by step, into senior leadership in her corporate career.

Karen has been clean and sober since August 31, 2005. And I am delighted to welcome her today to share her insight and wisdom.

Things you will learn in this episode:
The first time she struggled with addiction and the consequences that came with itHow marriage and having children made her decide to face her fears and leave what was holding her back from being her best SelfThe day she fully committed and embraced sobrietyHow long took for her to emerge into leadershipThe key to success in her recoveryHow power dynamics in bosses with narcissism provided challenges but made her a better leaderHow she has been able to overcome some of the negative aspects of her personalityKaren’s thought and advice for a recovering person who is interested in stepping into leadership
