041: Addressing the Emotions Behind Our Food and Exercise Choices to Make Healthy Habits Stick with Lauren Balterman Wake Up Call

    • Self-Improvement

Lauren Balterman is here to talk about why making physical changes like losing weight can be so difficult. We talk about how looking inward to the root of unhealthy behaviors can help us create new behaviors that positively impact our lives.

Lauren Balterman is a Licensed Counselor, Certified Personal Trainer, and holds an advanced degree in nutrition. She has been helping transform women's minds and bodies for a decade. Her mission is to guide and support women to become the greatest and most fulfilled version of themselves through mindset work, nutrition and physical fitness.

Lauren uses a whole person approach, taking the time and using the power of stories, CBT practices and Time Line therapy to discover things that have held someone back in the past and effectively reframe the thoughts to successfully move forward.  She believes everyone has a story which greatly affects their thoughts, beliefs, and choices. Everyone deserves to look and feel happy, confident and Lauren believes that with the right tools, support and guidance, every woman can!

Lauren’s 3 tips for taking that first step towards your goal:

Ask for help! Whether it's a health and fitness professional or a counselor (or both!), it will help lighten the load and make the process less overwhelming.
Create small goals for yourself that you can achieve to start building your confidence and your belief in yourself. This confidence is going to translate not just to your health goals, but also to your work and relationships.
You’re the architect of your body and of your life. It can feel like a lot is out of your control, but focus on what you can control and do the work to uncover the feelings behind the habits that are holding you back.

Welcome to the Wake Up Call Podcast with Alicia Hopkins (that’s me!). I work in corporate sales by day and am a personal development guru and Life Coach by night. My goal in this podcast is to share valuable and actionable tips on what I call the “Core Four” - mindfulness, movement, habits, and growth - so you can build a life that feels true to you. I will be interviewing people who have had a “wake up call” that their good-on-paper life wasn’t lighting them up, and what they did to change that. Join us every week for a new episode of the Wake Up Call Podcast with Alicia Hopkins!
