Joe Enochs is an American professional coach for SSV Jahn Regensburg in the 3rd Bundesliga. He came to Germany in 1993 and it’s been his home ever since. A club legend at VfL Osnabrück, he played in over 350 games and also featured once for the USMNT. His playing career transitioned into coaching as he spent time with Osnabrück’s second team, stints as a caretaker manager of the first team, before taking over as the first team head coach officially. A long and successful spell of 187 games at FSV Zwickau (also in the 3rd Bundesliga) followed. Joe takes us through his entire career, talking about the differences in playing and coaching, making a new country your home, his coaching philosophies, the pressures of managing a club so close to your heart, ted lasso, American tendencies and nuances, empathy, and so much more.
