Adding a couple more solved mysteries to the books doesn't seem to be working in the O'Connells' favor. Kaelen grapples with family dynamics that turn out to be far more complex than they imagined - also, she talks to her therapist, which is a plus. Damien deals with the fallout of some impulsive decisions. Something is wrong at Bev's Laundromat. Team Damien takes the world's worst roadtrip. A barbecue at a haunted house goes just about the way you'd think it would. The desert holds hidden dangers - and, perhaps, potential allies. As questions are answered and the holes in our heroes' memories start to fill in, the world becomes more understandable - and more dangerous.
