108. Hard Work, Whisky, and Yoga -W/ David Richards Thought Hustle
-
- Business
Today we bring on David Richards, a man who has done a little bit of everything. He was a real go-getter, graduating from high school at 16, then promptly proceeding to join the marines. he’s seen the world, spent time in Japan and once he returned to the civilian world, after 15 years of service, he wondered, what’s next. A brilliant question, that at one point or another, you’ve likely found yourself asking. Well, as anybody who was an avid fan of Stephen King might do, he tried to write. He tried and tried for 3 years, but nothing worked. Nothing worked, until he read Think and Grow Rich, a guest favorite on the show, and one, simple question blew him away.
What is your purpose? What is it that you’re trying to do, why haven’t you done it yet?
Key Points
Growing is dying because you have to leave behind your old self and build a new self to truly grow. Sometimes, you need to leave behind friends, habits, or cars so that you can achieve something else.Stick with it, it took decades for David to actually publish his first book, even though he’d always wanted to share his writingThere is strength in vulnerability, so be willing to be open, David is a brilliant example of this!Follow up
