Baseball is back, and so is 12 for 12 with Gerry Davis - a podcast for umpires, hosted by the umpire who has worked the most playoff games in Major League Baseball history. Back on the Field

Gerry addresses MLB's recent enforcement of rules against pitchers using foreign substances - from how the umpires are being asked to enforce it, to the specifics of the rules, to how it may trickle down to levels below the Major Leagues.
Advice from the Crew Chief
Gerry remembers a routine that he and the late Eric Gregg used for self-evaluation after games, talks about the importance of physical posture during discussions with players or managers, and describes how his time as a junior college basketball coach gave him empathy as an umpire.
Umpires are Partners
Gerry talks about what makes a good partner on and off the field, the importance of being honest with yourself as an umpire, and when is the right time to stand up for your partner during an argument.
Gerry talks about the importance of an umpire's pregame and postgame dress code, discusses how often umpires should refresh themselves on the rule book, and recalls a mistake from his time in Single-A that taught him a lesson.
Awesome baseball podcast
I was so pleased to come across this podcast. The insight and information has been fantastic. Gerry provides great information and content, and the production quality is done very well. Great listen for any baseball fan.
Great Podcast, great content.
There are so few podcasts out there for those of us that love to umpire and that would really like to meet the guys that work all those MLB games on TV. The ability to hear from guys like Gerry, Ted, Phil and more is amazing to me. It helps me to feel like being a part of their life within the podcast and seeing that they human just like me, amazing umpires but still human. I love the content, love the conversations and really admire Gerry’s humbleness and deflection of anything being in his name lol. Thank you Galel and Gerry for doing this.
This podcast provides really interesting insights into the world of professional baseball officiating. It’s cool to hear stories about games from the men who were on the field working those games. Mr. Davis and his colleagues offer lots of tips and pointers that we amateur umpires can take with us to the field as well. Keep up the great show! My only complaint is I wish the podcasts were longer!
