#13 Carol Adams on love, empathy, and compassion. How to inspire purpose and pride in those among us who are less fortunate‪.‬ GRATITRIBE

"Give a human a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a human how to fish and you feed them for a lifetime" ~Lao Tsu

Carol Adams has been dubbed the Mother Theresa of the 21st century. Carol is an American born humanitarian and philanthropist who has lived one-third of her life on the African continent.

25 years ago, when Carol was 50 years old, she packed her bags and left her beautiful home state of Hawaii, and decided to devote her life to caring for the orphans, the sick, and the poor in the East African county of Uganda. Carol has put the old fishing rod metaphor to a test and the results are spectacular. For the listeners, who may not be familiar with the fishing rod metaphor, it goes like this “give a human a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a human how to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.” Carol has proven this statement to be true with countless real-life success stories.

As she celebrates her 25th anniversary doing this work, many of us, her sons and daughters of the heart prosper around the world. At 75 years old, she has helped thousands of children in need with a helping hand to become strong functioning and contributing members of their communities, nations, and the world.

Full disclosure, I along with thousands of other humans beings around the world would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for the tireless work of Carol Adams.

Carol is a living legend and has truly lived her extraordinary life practicing love, empathy, and compassion.
It was such an honor and a privilege to sit and speak with my real-life hero.
