132. The Secret to Surviving Suffering with Millie White

Help! I'm Raising Fatherless Kids

Losing a father at a young age is a life-altering event beyond our control, but how we respond to that loss is within our power—and it's this response that ultimately shapes the course of our lives. Our guest today, Millie White, became fatherless at the age of ten. She determined to take “the high road” rather than wallow in self-pity. She came to faith in Christ at the age of 15 when she realized that God would never leave or forsake those who put their trust in Him. Through her experience with suffering, she has learned to count her blessings.

In this episode, Millie talks about

  • The ebb and flow of grief

  • Handling the expectations of others in response to our grief

  • The power of perspective and guarding our thoughts

  • Practical tips for fatherless girls
