135 - PinkTag: Empowering Women and Innovating Retail Growth with PinkTag's Britney Renbarger

Your host, Doug Noll, talks with the Owner and Founder of PinkTag, Britney Renbarger. Brittany's entrepreneurial journey began in the comfort of her own home, with her husband building her a website to kickstart her online business. She started by purchasing clothing she loved and shipping it to her home. The first year was slow, with locals visiting her house to shop. However, when the pandemic hit in 2020 and in-person shopping was limited, her online website started gaining traction, especially for accessories and handbags.
The business grew rapidly, and Brittany hired her sister full-time. Currently, PinkTag boasts around 12 employees, but they had up to 20 when they opened their brick-and-mortar store in the Oxmoor Mall in Louisville. They aimed to create a unique shopping experience, incorporating features like a selfie wall and live selling. They even partnered with Facebook to help them roll out their shopping platform. However, when Facebook stopped live shopping, PinkTag shifted its focus to TikTok shopping.
Brittany attributes her success to a combination of hard work, not giving up, and always giving her best effort in everything she does. She also credits her family and the impact PinkTag has had on their lives, including her mother being able to quit her job and start her own cleaning business.
