I think that this podcast is pretty good except for all the fuzz while the hosts or people are talking.

I think your podcast is good but I cannot listen to it because of my device for some reason it gives me an error message... please try to fix this because if you fix this I will become a fan.. I’m not a fan rn because it literally doesn’t work if you guys get a chance please fix this otherwise when I read all of the last book i will listen to your latest episode! But sorry for the bad review idk what is going on with this podcast not working.. otherwise it’s fine 😌

As a relatively new tribute (reaped into the fandom January 2015), I imagined it would be interesting to go back and listen to the THG podcasts, most of which had been recorded primarily during the 2011-2013 period. (Jabberjays.net's JabberCast is the only one that continued through and reacted to Mockingjay: Part 2, so I was able to keep up and interact with that site on the regular from last year onward, providing feedback.) Alas, I wasn't terribly impressed by any of them.

This one...is fun to hear when the hosts & panelists are joking and goofing around and playing games. It's by far the lengthiest podcast, and as much a mixed bag as the others...lots of thumbs-up and thumbs-down. Many interesting discussions and good thoughts, but even more with which I vehemently disagreed. That in itself isn't horrible; disagreement and debate can be invigorating and beneficial for any rich, vital fandom. This elicited strong negative responses from me more often than I'd have liked, though. On the positive side, the hosts and panelists tried to be polite in sharing their opinions and thoughts. Everybody was definitely trying to do an entertaining, civil, informative show.

Thankfully they didn't screw up facts and pronunciations quite as often as others did; they were considerably more knowledgeable. I did very generously award a second star to the Nightlock podcast in response to a couple of ideas expressed in its first couple of episodes (since these things play in reverse order, backtracking through time.) Here, it was tough to decide. Were the plus sides & thumbs-ups & excellent points sufficient to compensate for everything that baffled, annoyed, and/or infuriated me? Since the show was technically well-researched and put-together, I decided to go with two. Despite the overcrowding, people talking over each other, and occasional poor audio quality/connections.

Now, I am extremely defensive and protective of my favorite character (Effie.) And I was dismayed, though not surprised, to find that they held the typical, casual, shallow, thoughtless, inconsiderate, superficial, unfair view of her. Their image is not mine AT ALL. To me she is the loveliest and most compelling, complex, wonderful, adorable, fantastic person in the entire tale. I could go on for hundreds of kilobytes about my understanding/interpretation of Effie, and it can be almost painful to hear things spoken of her which I couldn't find more wrong.

(Let's also note that Hayffie is the universe's most beautiful and poignant love story. The most unforgivable aspect of Part 2 was the failure to depict the guaranteed Hayffie wedding and kids in D12. There should have been an expanded conclusion/epilogue for closure and further improvement upon the book.)

Another note, in case this anyone ever actually sees this: It would behoove every tribute to check out the "Reading With a Vengeance" commentaries on this trilogy. (Tip: Use Chrome's "Speak-It" when you don't want to read, because those analyses are loooong; they really dig into every chapter.) They're harsh, but they're also smart and incisive, displaying critical reading & thinking skills well beyond most actual fans I've seen. I rarely agree with anything like this in its entirety, and this is no exception--but still, those writeups will always remain favorites.

P.S. It's Haymitch's bracelet, not Finnick's, and it's very important. Man, even the official coloring book labeled it "Finnick's bracelet," and I'm just like, "Grr...yeah, I know he's everybody's favorite after Katniss & Peeta, and I love him too, but let's get this straight." It was a gift from Effie that Haymitch only lent to Finnick so Katniss would recognize him as an ally.
