138. Setting Up Good Sleep Habits with Manu Brune The New Mom Boss Podcast

    • Parenting

Welcome back to the New Mom Boss Podcast! New parents often wonder how they are supposed to get quality sleep when their baby gets up every few hours. My guest Manu Brune and I explore this topic and discuss how to encourage proper sleep habits in babies so that everyone can benefit!

Manu’s story is very similar to mine, in that she had to call in the help of a professional to sleep train her firstborn because she was already pregnant with her second. And it worked after only three nights!

Manu then became a pediatric sleep consultant to help other parents and new moms get over the same sleep struggles, while also working as a certified parent coach and postpartum doula.

In our conversation, we talk more about setting your baby up with proper sleep habits, why parents are apprehensive to sleep train, and the importance of mimicking the womb in the fourth trimester.

 Some big takeaways are:
Sleep training should not happen until the baby is about 15 weeks of adjusted age. Holding your newborn extra will not spoil them!New moms need at least 4-hour stretches of sleep to support their health.
