156: Michael Teape Helps You Connect to What’s Needed Unlabeled Leadership

    • Management

I invite guests to share personal stories about acts of leadership that help shape their lives. In Episode 156, Michael Teape talks about a life-changing moment that helped him overcome imposter syndrome and receive feedback in a new way. Michael then talks about how a CEO helped his company think differently during the COVID disruption. That led to a story about how an electrical company handled freezing telegraph lines that started by thinking about bears and honey. Next, Michael advises us to use three questions to guide one-to-one conversations with direct reports.

Prologue

Since 1994, Michael has been conducting business and personal effectiveness design and delivery training, coaching, train-the-trainer, and training strategy development for a wide spectrum of clients. Michael is the owner and lead training consultant of Teape Training International (or TTI). Through TTI, Michael and his colleagues partner with clients through the entire learning strategy and curriculum development processes.

01:43 Part 1: Missing the Whole Picture

10:32 Part 2: Honey on the Telegraph Poles

24:17 Part 3: Power of the One-to-One
