6: The Gospel and Cancel Culture

Get ready to be challenged and emboldened by this episode of The Gospel Changes Everything podcast. Alisha Illian and Shanda Fulbright bring us into a straight-talk conversation about speaking truth in a post-truth culture.

We need to prepare ourselves to hold fast to truth, even when it’s difficult. We must come to terms with the fact that truth IS love, although an unbelieving world may hate it. It’s crucial to remember that, as we imitate Christ, our aim is NOT to attract the largest audience, but to remain faithful to God and His Word.

On the flip side of this issue, Shanda and Alisha consider when and how Christians should separate themselves from anti-God organizations. They break down the ways in which these decisions are different from “canceling” a business or individual. We pray you’ll find this episode helpful and encouraging as you navigate an increasingly hostile culture.

5: The Gospel and Work HIS Way

5: The Gospel and Work HIS Way

Welcome to The Gospel Changes Everything podcast! In this episode, Alisha Illian had the opportunity to chat with Michelle Myers and Somer Phoebus of She Works HIS Way. No matter what "work" looks like in your life, this conversation is for YOU! Full of Biblical insight and real-life experience, these ladies define some crucial terms: What is work? What is success, and who determines what that looks like? Why does obedience to Christ feel risky?

Whether you are a stay-at-home mom or you work outside the home full-time, you will walk away from this episode encouraged and uplifted. You may even feel the "shoulder-drop" of a weight being lifted from you. We pray you'll be challenged to commit all your work (whatever it is!) for the Lord to use for His purposes, HIS way.

    4: The Gospel and Worldview

    4: The Gospel and Worldview

In this episode of The Gospel Changes Everything podcast, Alisha Illian and special guest Andrea Crum walk through a discussion of world view. This conversation gives clarity as Andrea and Alisha define what a world view is, what questions it answers (Why do I exist? What went wrong with the world? How do we fix it?), and the implications for our lives, families, and society as a whole. As Christians, we want to carefully cultivate a Biblical world view - to think in a way that aligns with God's Word. This will also help us identify unbiblical beliefs, think critically about cultural issues, and engage with those who hold differing world views. This episode works through all of this (and more) in a way that is easy to understand and will leave you more equipped to tackle important thought processes and conversations in your own life.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Andrea Crum's online course, Truth & Love, will become available March 17th. You can get more information at her website: https://andreacrum.com/truth-love/

3: The Gospel and False Teaching

3: The Gospel and False Teaching

Welcome to The Gospel Changes Everything Podcast! In this episode, Alisha Illian teams up with Marcie Morris to tackle an important issue - false teaching. This episode will probably challenge your thinking, and it may step on your toes. Our advice? Do your best to listen (to the whole thing!) with an open mind and a teachable spirit. While the IF:Gathering is specifically discussed, this episode goes beyond simply targeting one source of false teaching. Alisha and Marcie provide a biblical basis for WHY and HOW false gospels should be called out. Additionally, you'll be encouraged to study and research for yourself. As mentioned in this episode, every Christian is empowered by the Holy Spirit and equipped through the Word of God to develop discernment regarding what we are taught.

    Resources mentioned in this episode:

Scripture support for "naming names" when discussing false teachers/teaching: 2 Timothy 4:10 — "Demas: in love with this present world", 2 Timothy 1:15 — "Phygelus and Hermogenes (turned away)", 1 Tim 1:19-20 —"some have shipwrecked their faith among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn", 2 Tim 2:17 — "their talk will spread like gangrene — among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus", 3 John 3 — "I have written to the church, but Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first..."

2: The Gospel and the Enneagram

You will be blessed by Jillian's transparency, joyful spirit, and bold passion for truth and God's Word. From the origins of the enneagram (maybe not what you think), to Jillian's personal testimony, this episode will give greater clarity (and possibly conviction) as to whether Christian women should be participating in this popular "personality tool".

1: The Gospel and Biblical Justice

1: The Gospel and Biblical Justice

In this episode of The Gospel Changes Everything, Alisha dives into a hot topic - racial reconciliation and Biblical justice. Though this may seem like a cultural issue, it’s actually a spiritual one The problems in our culture are real. The sin of racism is real. However, the answers are not found in the world's proposed solution of Critical Race Theory (CRT). In this episode, Alisha will define terms and explain the worldview behind this framework. As always, this episode will point back to the truth of the gospel. The key to Biblical unity within the church is not to overturn societal structures, but for the Lord to transform our hearts and minds.

So helpful for me!

The Truth be Told podcast has been one of my favorites for awhile! I love the shorter episodes with plenty of practical Biblical applications-I feel like I always learn something from the host and guest, and have something I can take away, and work on in my faith journey. Grateful for this podcast and all that Women (re)Purposed is doing!

Truth Be Told

I think this podcast is awesome! This platform is needed for women. My favorite Episode is 2! 🙏🏾

Although this podcast focus is for women, Triana said, it is also important to hear the males perspective on topics and she will invite men to the discussions! I’m looking forward to hearing the next topic!
