17-Year-Old Charged in Sprayberry Stabbing
A critical stabbing incident at Sprayberry High School in Cobb County led to a Code Red lockdown just before noon on Wednesday. The victim, an 18-year-old student, is in critical condition. The 17-year-old suspect, Aedan Smith, faces charges of aggravated assault and carrying a weapon within a school safety zone.
The altercation reportedly occurred during a fight in a bathroom, according to a senior student witness. Following the incident, the suspect fled but was later taken into custody by police, allowing classes to resume with increased police presence.
The event has left the school community and parents deeply concerned for student safety. One parent with twin sons at the school expressed her uncertainty about allowing them to return, highlighting the pervasive concern for student safety.
