Lots of pseudo-academic leftists crafting very poorly thought out critiques of classic left-wing theory, only to not address the obvious contradictions in their analysis. Constantly alternating between abstract, self-masturbatory high political questions with no relation to actual organization and then 5 seconds later giving into a purely economist analysis with no recognition of political obstacles. Not worth listening to.

U.S has the highest household expenditure compared to Germany and China because the housing, education and health insurance—the biggest contributors to consumption—are exorbitantly high, despite lower quality; not due to the amount of “junks” they spend on, which are cheaply imported and sold as Studebaker should’ve known. This being the main empirical data to the bulk of his thesis on how the U.S. consumer is still indispensable to the world’s economy should give anyone a pause. The rest of the arguments are also largely thinly substantiated, even contradictory to real world evidence. His book about the crisis of American democracy offers similar simplistic and half-baked views. Interesting at times, but overall poorly thought through due to ignorance of many subjects. The host laments the magical thinking on the left but fails to see the faulty reasoning of his favorite guest. Left me wonder who is clouded with bias.

What a Bunch of Neocons. After 20 minutes of hearing our greatest and brightest (Bernie, AOC, Crockett) attacked and slandered, I had to pause in disbelief how these people PRETEND to center left while basically calling the only truly valorous politicians in America dead beat commies. He’s awfully mad at the powerful but fair, for what I don’t know. I turned it off and will never listen to the liars at Dime ever again.
