I meet a lotta people. I like to listen. You might be next.
The Can't-idate Chronicler — Craig Tomashoff (#7)
On the heels of the release of the second edition of his political and very personal road memoir from Bobtimystic Books, The Can't-idates: Running For President When Nobody Knows Your Name, journalist Craig Tomashoff joins Bob to talk politics and crazy ideas. The project took Craig all over America for 3 weeks in 2015 talking to 15 Americans — among the 1800+ registered — who decided it was a good idea to run for President of the United States. Craig and Bob also share their perspectives on the ultimate can't-idate who shocked everyone, Donald Trump.

Loren Bouchard & H. Jon Benjamin — Bob's Burgers (#6)
I had a chance to talk with the Bob's Burgers creator (Bouchard) AND the show's star (Benjamin) for a magazine story I was writing. Not a bad gig for a guy named Bob.
All About Andy/Pt. 1 — Annie Moore (#5)
Annie Moore was married to Andy Colameco for 21 years, before he died of leukemia in 2003. Prior to meeting Annie at a birthday party, Andy — who'd been diagnosed with a learning disability as a kid in Philadelphia — turned down a chance to get his Ph.D. in Physics at Harvard. Instead, he chose to teach science and coach girl's basketball at a high school in Vermont. During their first year of marriage, Andy woke up before school each morning to write his first novel, Einstein Doesn't Throw Dice — which would eventually land in The Brautigan Library for unpublished books in Burlington, VT. Last month, nearly 14 years after his death, Bobtimystic Books published Einstein Doesn't Throw Dice, releasing the book on March 14 — Albert Einstein's birthday. In today's episode, Annie fills in some of the details about her late, great husband and the autobiographical novel that unearths his genius.
Einstein Doesn't Throw Dice is available through Amazon, selected independent bookstores and at BobtimysticBooks.com.
Chuck Barris Is Dead — The Gong Show (#4)
Chuck Barris died last week. So we decided to talk to some of the people who were around when we appeared on Chuck's famous production, The Gong Show, during which Chuck accused us of being "possibly the worst act we've ever had on the show."
Our appearance has yet to show up on YouTube. But here's a link to the Monday show (we were on Thursday's episode), in which Chuck tells the audience to tune in Thursday to see quite possibly the worst act ever on the show:
New Family, New Surfer — Ryan Bailey (#3)
A few months ago my stepdad Al told me about his cousin's son up in Rochester. He said the guy had a surf band and I should meet him. Why not? I love music. I love surfing. Plus, he's family. Even though I didn't know the guy existed 6 months ago. Now I'm a HUGE fan of his band, the Huckleberry Fins—even though they disbanded after releasing their first album. When I met up with Ryan he was trying to learn how to surf in Rockaway Beach, sleeping every night in his white cargo van with the "LIBRARY" painted across the side. Kinda mitigates the "strange guy sleeping in his van down by the water" vibe he may have put off in the white cargo van. That's the closest that cargo van will ever come to being a VW bus.
Aliens, Shamans and the DEN — Larry Zeno (#2)
Larry Zeno worked on Singled Out, hosted the Disney game show Off the Wall and starred in 2 shows from "the DEN," a highly-funded early internet portal that eventually went off the rails. Then he disappeared from Hollywood...to be a drum tech/roadie before cleaning aquariums for 13 years. And now he's back, ready to unleash his unique talents on the entertainment and enlightenment world again. Larry's got a fascinating story and a unique perspective on the human condition.
