Investing in the future Let's Talk Startups

    • Entrepreneurship

Money is pretty important, right? And when you’ve worked hard for your cash, you want to know that your investments are meaningful, especially when the world needs us. That’s where new startup, Etcho, comes in! Founded by the great minds of Charlie and Liall, Etcho is about uniting morals and money by providing information on sustainable investing. Who knows, it might just be the app that saves the world!

We’re picking Charlie’s brains to find out how he’s uniting his investment expertise with his passion for change. It’s not always been straightforward, but it wouldn’t be a startup if it was, would it? There are always hurdles along the way, something Charlie knows all about. From managing working with family, to monetising morals, startups are complicated, but when your heart is in it, it’s worth every sacrifice.

Etcho is driven by passion and by skill – our two favourite things! So we’re intrigued to hear all of the brilliant (but disturbing) revelations that Charlie is bringing to our conversation. He’s divulging all of the ugly truths about the greenwashing nature of EFTs and EFGs, from tobacco stocks to oil. His revelations prove that investors need more transparency… in fact, they need an app that provides the information which usually lives in the inaccessible depths of the small print. Cue: Etcho!

Due to launch soon, Etcho is changing sustainability from a formality into a priority and helping investors who want to do their bit to do it well. You already know that we’re obsessed with startups at blazon, but we especially love to see startups that identify a problem and create a business around solving it. We’re fascinated to hear where Charlie is up to on his journey, but Nargis and Demos won’t be leaving the discussion there. Charlie’s experience of safeguarding his app against disaster, managing work-life balance and of remaining goal-focussed in the face of obstacles makes him the perfect person to talk to. Let’s talk startups!

From building a business, to developing an app, Charlie’s experiences promise to teach us a lot. But, if you know us, you already know that we’ll be throwing Charlie a few curveballs, so if you think you can keep up, get ready for some surprise quiz questions and test your knowledge of green investments against the pro. When the world is in need of change, we’re glad there are people like Charlie working on it.

So, are you ready to bury what you think you know and dig deep into the world of sustainable investment? Let’s talk startups!
