#216 - Jenn Wexler (The Ranger, Like Me, Darling, Depraved‪)‬ The Overlook Hour Podcast

    • Film Interviews

Jenn Wexler, the director of The Ranger, a horror film whose central characters are a group of punks, joins us this week to talk about the fear of being called a poser and the pursuit of authenticity, both in the punk and horror communities. She also gives Russell a lesson on film production and shares her Christmas adventure of meeting Larry Fessenden.
In the intro, Oksana joins Russ and Clark as Randy went to Idaho during a pandemic. Randy did record a segment where he talks about two films he saw through the Mill Valley Film Festival. Clark watched an uninteresting documentary on an interesting subject. Russ and Oksana talk about Quentin Dupieux's film "Mandibles" and then everyone joins in with their take on "The Wolf of Snow Hollow".

Films: Sound of Metal (2019), Shithouse (2020), Wild Card: The Downfall of a Radio Loudmouth (2020), Mandibles (2020), The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020), Like Me (2017), The Ranger (2018), Thunder Road (2018), The Empty Man (2020), The Bye Bye Man (2017), Knife + Heart (2018), The House of the Devil (2009), The Return of the Living Dead (1985), Class of 1984 (1982), Perfect Blue (1997), My Heart Can't Beat Unless You Tell It To (2020), The Shining (1980), Rear Window (1954), Boys from County Hell (2020)
