Guts and Grit - A founder's roadtrip to success Let's Talk Startups

    • Entrepreneurship

As founders, we're all used to 'knocking on a few doors' to get results. In fact, when you're seeking investment, that's imperative. But this founder has taken this strategy to a whole new (and very literal) level...!!

In this episode, co-hosts Demos Demetriou and Nargis Jafferali are in conversation with Moiz Janjua, the aspirational founder of SplitTrip.

Like so many, he based the idea for this startup on a personal experience - a young student with a desire to explore the country but on a shoestring University budget. SplitTrip allows students to organise safe and easy ride-sharing journeys across the UK, and it's designed to encourage people to carpool and save money.

But Moiz wondered how he would finance this project, and started a "roadtrip" of his own to securing investment. How he did it and why he did it that way will blow your mind! He says: "Sometimes Founders have to do things outside of the box" - and he wasn't kidding!

Demos and Nargis are questioning this startup's extreme niche focus, challenging the costs, and discussing the map for the future of SplitTrip - with a few tests of Moiz's knowledge along the way, naturally!

Is his ethos of "Enjoy the journey, not just the destination" enough to guarantee success? Let's Talk Startups!
