Prayer should never be about asking God to do anything. 😲 That isn't the way Jesus modeled prayer for us! Jesus' model of prayer was the act of coming into agreement with God's glory. The word glory in Greek literally means OPINION. Yep! I challenge you to reread familiar verses about God's glory and use the word opinion when you see the word glory. While the glory of God does include His greatness and majesty, more often than not, when used in scripture it refers to His opinion. When it comes to doing something to the glory of God, it means doing it in a way that expresses His opinion, His view, and His reality. It is less about doing something so God's ego is stroked or even so other people see His greatness (although that is a fantastic byproduct!). It is more about surrendering our opinion for His opinion on the matter. Prayer is a constant recalibration of our opinions and judgments (decisions on a matter) for His opinion and judgments.

Join me for Part 2 of this series, "Find Yourself Approved" as we delve further into moving past the begging and shaming and self-abasement models of prayer into the way Jesus taught us to pray! If your prayer life isn't availing to much (James 5:16), you need this message!!
