25 Years Fresh: Market Stories from Hastings-on-Hudson, NY

Since 1998, when the Hastings Farmers' Market was founded by a group of enterprising women, the volunteer-led nonprofit market has been connecting people in the village of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY with food grown across the Hudson Valley. In celebration of the Market’s 25th anniversary, we’ve invited the community to share stories and memories of what the Market means to them. We explore what it means to be in relationship with each other, with the place where we live, and with the people who grow our food across the region.

    Farmers, shoppers, and community leaders in the village of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, share their voices on what the Hastings Farmers' Market means to them -- part of a celebration of the Market's 25th anniversary bringing people together around food. This is just a small sample of the stories shared by the community to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Hastings Farmers' Market. In order of appearance, this trailer features: Lulu’s Blues Cruise, Joe Morgiewicz of Morgiewicz Produce, Wendy Woo of Great Joy Family Farm, Maya Joyce, Ophir Prosak, Miguel LaCruz of Wild Culture Waffles, David Djebali, Maggie Doberstein of Sea Change Farm & Flower, Rachel Pepper, Lola LaCruz, Larry Lee of Meredith’s Bread, John Maggiotto, Trevor Bryan of Concklin Farm, Sarah Lucas of Harlem Valley Homestead, Lucy Corrigan, and Judy Jakubik of the Hastings Food Pantry and Youth Advocate Program.
