3 Art Selling Mistakes to Avoid The Inspiration Place

    • Visual Arts

I just got back from a week in Israel, and it was an amazing time with my family. In this episode, I’m sharing The Tale of Two Shopkeepers. One failed to sell me pieces I wanted to buy, and another sold me two pieces of something I didn’t even know I wanted. Two very different shopping experiences, and two different results.
Here are some of the selling points I noticed as a buyer that may help you sell your art:
Being helpful isn’t pushy. Don’t put obstacles up for your customers. Focus on the experience of your customers, not the transaction. “Stoke your collector’s passion while they're in the throes of the experience.” - Miriam Schulman
I also introduce a new segment to the podcast called “The Art World Remembers,” and I answer a question from one of our Artist Incubator clients.
The stories I share in this episode are reminders for the next time you talk to your clients, and to give them an experience that will lead to your next sale.
