31 Days to Become a Better Man

Take away:
Having the discipline to live frugally, work hard, continuously invest in self-development, and keep perspective on what constitutes true abundance leads to financial freedom and a fulfilling life.

Money Learnings:
As a young kid, Joel was attracted to toys and material things, but his parents repeatedly told him "we don't have money" when he wanted something. Despite their poverty, Joel's parents were extremely hardworking and frugal. They saved diligently and were able to buy a house within 3 years of arriving, paying it off fully within 7 years. Through experiences like these, Joel learned the value of money from a very young age. He saw his parents' discipline in saving every penny and spending frugally as they worked to improve their situation after arriving with nothing. This instilled a drive in Joel to start making and saving his own money, beginning entrepreneurial efforts as early as 4th grade.
