#31 - What do you expect‪?‬ You, Me, and the Elephant

Whether we are consciously aware of it or not, we have many expectations in life. Several of them are unconscious, like expecting the sun to rise and to set everyday or the expectation that breath will keep us alive. The truth is we use the act of expectation, large and small, every day of our lives. Sometimes it can feel like the world expects a lot from us doesn't it!? Or, perhaps we expect a lot from the world?
In a conversation I recently had with my brother, we were discussing the dance with how and what we expect from our kids. Now THAT’S a rich subject within itself. For now, let's stay with the current inquiry.
The question is, where do our expectations come from? How clear are you on what you expect of yourself and of others? How can they be useful and how may they be limiting?
I am so curious to delve into this more profoundly, will you join me?
In this episode, I adventure into what lies behind our expectations, how reconnecting with the mystery of life influences how and what we expect, and how re-visiting Don Miguel Ruiz's Four Agreements may support us in updating and enriching our relationship to EXPECTING.
See you in the episode.
