    • Mental Health

Bailey Parnell is the Founder & CEO of SkillsCamp, a soft skills training company, and was named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women.

Bailey is also a TEDx speaker. Her informative talk - "Is Social Media Hurting Your Mental Health?" - has over 1 million views. She is an award-winning digital marketer and a businesswoman with a talent for helping people develop the skills they need for success.

In addition to her popular TEDx talk, Bailey's work and expertise have been featured in Forbes, CBC, FOX, Flare Magazine, and more. She has been working on completing her part-time Masters in Communications and Culture at Ryerson University with research looking into social media's impact on mental health - the results of which she presented at the World Youth Forum in Egypt.

In this episode, Bailey and I discuss the good and the bad of social media, the importance of building offline soft skills and working on one's self-esteem, realizing that social media is a combination of highlight reels, differentiating between internal and external motivators, finding a healthy balance/relationship with social media, self-awareness, and much more.

We also discuss many of the "online stressors" that Bailey touches on in her TEDx talk.
