#36 We Can Blow Things Up, But What Comes After? - John McElligott & Doug Hurst, Third Order Effects Veteran Founder Podcast

    • Business

John's still in the military, serving in the Army reserve. That came after a stint in the Peace Corp too. Doug had a 30-year career and retired not too long ago; being born on the Fourth of July might have had something to do with that. John is currently working in civil affairs for the Army, which is a perfect bridge to being an entrepreneur. It was part of the reason the two of them had an idea, worked it out on paper, and then waited for Doug to retire from military life. They then tackled the huge task of counseling the military on how to work with a local, civilian population to handle the entire operation - utilities, local government, jobs - not just the military operation, to stabilize an area peacefully.
