As much as 20% of the population has some form of neurodiversity (e.g. autism, ADHD,  dyslexia, etc.), and many can struggle, along with their families, to fully engage with the life of the church.  They often suffer in silence,  feeling misunderstood and having difficulties relating with others and even comprehending scriptural truths.  Karen Maurer, an occupational therapist, pastor’s wife, and member of the EFCA Disabiltiles and Special Needs team, will discuss some of the unique learning styles, relationship needs, and environmental supports that are important to consider while ministering alongside a diverse body of believers.
