Humans came from a powerful and profound design. How can we live at our full potential?  Whatever we grew up with became our "normal".  And we humans are very good at reproducing whatever is "normal" to us.  That is fantastic for a few but really stinks for too many others. Between what you already believe about life and the losses you've faced, you may want to break up with your "normal" in order to discover a life can exceed your expectations.  Imagine getting comfortable with that.If we're open to it, we can become whole inside beyond what we've ever experienced, and life can exceed our expectations.  Let hope arise.Note, The previous name for this podcast was "3Ps in a Pod". You'll hear that in the introductions of older episodes from 2020-21; "Back to One" better fits my hope for us all.

Embark on an enlightening journey with us, joined by the charismatic Pastor Darren Stott of Eden Church in Newcastle, as we unravel layers of faith, forgiveness, and the quest for inner peace. Pastor Darren paints a vivid picture of his personal odyssey to pastoring, highlighting an emotional encounter that sparked a transformative moment of forgiveness. This candid conversation unravels the power of redemption, and the pivotal role forgiveness plays in life.

We venture into a riveting exploration of world religions, dismantling common misconceptions, and discovering the unique paths many faiths follow in their attempts to find favor with the divine. Experience an open dialogue about how upbringing shapes our perspectives of a supreme being and how Christianity, with deep roots in Judaism, stands out from the crowd. Unlike many, Christianity is not a faith of performance for acceptance, but rather a celebration of unconditional love and acceptance.

As we traverse deeper into Christianity, we open a treasure trove of its distinct aspects and the ways in which it stands apart from other religions. Together, we delve beneath surface, discussing the common strongholds of fear and shame, and how faith can serve as a beacon of hope. We provide a unique invitation to experience the peace and love of Jesus, underscoring the importance of forging a personal relationship with God. Through this heartfelt exploration, you'll find a fresh perspective on faith, forgiveness, and the journey to inner peace. Tune in for an engaging, inspiring, and deeply moving conversation.

An Opinion on Opinions - Be Careful How You Hear

An Opinion on Opinions - Be Careful How You Hear

Everybody’s got an opinion. Share it with caution.  Real communication takes real effort.
What is an Opinion?   o·pin·ion /əˈpinyən/  noun
a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. way of thinking, point of view , viewpoint, outlook, angle, slant, attitude, stance, perspective, reflections, idea, assumption, conviction, in my view, if you ask me, the beliefs or views of a large number or majority of people about a particular thing.
Forming opinions are part of how we learn but are risky.  Sharing opinions helps gain perspective but opinions could become judgments where we stop listening, stop asking questions and bring division.
Work vs social media response patterns
The Risks and Benefits of OpinionsWritten versus spoken communication and the amplified ways to misunderstand.Be careful how you hear. Emotions, mindset, assumptions and their impact on hearing others.Often we don’t listen, we interpretOpinion vs beliefWhat if an opinion moves to a judgement?Bald like a lion?   Funny stories of what was said versus what was heard.
Couple communication:  Listening versus interpreting.  Slowing down to speed up.
Seeking common ground and communicating good will.
    The benefits of debates
Discussion matters, debate matters, listening matters, telling the truth, getting to the “truth” matters….. in my opinion.
