54. Failing Forward: Overcoming the Fear of Failure Finding Greatness

    • Self-Improvement

We all know the fear of failure is a total buzzkill. You have a great goal or dream but fear gets in the way. We all experience it, you aren't alone in your fear. Stumbling and failing is a necessary part of the process of reaching new heights. Even the first lesson in figure skating is how to take a tumble. So, let's stop acting like we're the only ones who get sweaty palms at the thought of failure.

We ponder the question: what's your growth edge? You know, that area where you can challenge yourself and push beyond your comfort zone. The fear of failure can often be a major obstacle in our pursuit of greatness but seriously, don't let it be a stop sign. Instead of giving up and grabbing a pint of ice cream, let's embrace the idea that running into obstacles is not the end, but rather another step towards success.

It's time to recognize that failure is just an opportunity to learn and grow. We're here to give you a kick in the butt to encourage you to use the fear of failure as a motivator to keep pushing forward. It's time to stop being afraid of failure and start being afraid of not trying.

What you'll hear in this episode:

[1:31] The fear of failure

[6:04] Our experience with fear of failure

[12:00] What's your growth edge? How to push the limits of what you already know is possible.

[15:00] What happens when we fail? How can we use our failures to learn more and get closer to successful outcomes?

[20:15] How did you fail this week? Normalizing the idea that failure is okay because it's part of the process.

[22:25] If you aren't failing, you aren't pushing yourself. Paige's pep-talk.
